Well like they always say like father like son. Here is Wylie at the apple farm on Saturday with Maxwell's Suzuki. It would not start for the longest time but we persevered and walla... we got it running. In fact it is now running better then it ever has. I don't think that's due to his dad's efforts but it makes for a better story. The helmet Wylie is wearing is a fully custom helmet designed by yours truly. A fun creative effort and I think it turned out ok. As you can see it fully protects that cute face of his. The apple farm did get a new quad but I failed to get a picture of that this time around. It is truly over the top. The second picture is just me looking like a dork as usual.

So headed up to Columbia County this weekend. Wylie is staying in the City as he is still a bit under the weather but he is recovering nicely. It is snowing today if you can believe it but I hear upstate is sunny and clear today so that's great!
Thoughts of early spring make me think of the country even more then normal. The smell of the fresh spring field grass and the beginnings of the birds chirping in the early mornings are all wonderful to look forward too. A few images come to mind and I found some this morning that I would like to share. The 1st is a farm outside of Stuyvesant looking towards the Berkshire Mountains at the height of summer. You can tell that by the height of the corn in the field. I know exactly what that place sounds smells and feels like. Its a great image and if you click on it it gets much bigger so you can truly get a sense of it.
The second smaller image is of Cody and Jim Tuttle hunting rabbit with the beagles in late fall with the Old Chatham Hunt Club. This is actually going on now as March is the Winter/spring hunting season also so I put it in as they are hunting this Sunday. The last is a great barn in Malden Bridge where I spent more then my share of time exploring the Kinderhook Creek behind it. Enjoy.

QD Ducati
Wylie and I walked passed this good example of a Ducati Monster yesterday on the way to the doctor. Wylie is a bit under the weather but not enough to stop and make a comment that this was a cool bike. The QD exhaust is very trick and hard to find. Its featured in the second image. This style of box exhaust looks great on Monsters specifically as they truly clean up the rear tail section and enhance the over look of the bike. This bike needs all the help it can get to look tough and this example is about as close to that as you will find without going full custom.

Say Goodbye to Our Honda
Well the old CB 750 is gone. We sold her off this past weekend to two kids from Vermont. Hope they have a good time restoring her further. This was a great bike and I loved restoring the aesthetics of this late 70's super sport and brought her as far as I could. The seat was my design as well as the cafe layout you see here. Sad however that I was just not able to rebuild the motor properly. She still runs excellent but wow does she like to smoke!

Montauk Dreams
Well with spring hopfully approching soon, dreams of the beach and the ocean begin to reappear. Even though I don't get out east too often any longer, Wylie certainly does and Montauk is one of his favorite places. Ditch Plains is the best surfing beach by far to see and be seen and is one of our favorite destinations. We have never had a need for lodging but we recommend staying at the East Deck Motel if at all possible. Hard to get a reservation but well worth it if you do.
If you are looking for an alternate place The Surf Lodge in town is also a great bet. Good vibe and the evening sunsets on the deck are amazing. You will feel right at home with your margarita or in Wylie's case your oj and soda in hand.
The local surf report can be found at 631-537-SURF of just go to Surfline.

The hanging sign
unfortunately fell from its perch a few weeks ago and smashed to the ground rendering it unusable and headed for the dumpster. However the lone remaining sign shown on the brick wall in the top image was saved today! Seth Kelley, Wylie and I removed the sign at approximately 2:45 pm. A fine example of Gansevoort history. The sign will reside at the home of Mr Kelley for the foreseeable future. We are all very happy.
Trucks we love!
Wylie's top choices on the top and dad's more mundane but still quality examples on the bottom. Quality being open to interpretation. Beauty as they say is in the eye of the beholder and I like my trucks a bit well worn and Wylie likes his new and built for speed. The best hardcore trucks on the net for sale can be found here if your in the market...come on we know you want one!
Wylie in Madison Sq park feeling the cold day and glad to be out with his dad walking the dog...clearly. Like to know more about Madison Sq. click here. Home of the famous Shake Shack.
